It was a bitterly cold Thursday night at Quincy High School as the Jackrabbits took the field for their final football game of the 2026 season. Ellensburg handed Quincy a 49-6 loss, ending a winless season for the Jacks. But the evening was about more than the scoreboard, as the community gathered to celebrate Senior Night and recognize the students who have represented Quincy throughout the season.
Thursday was also Pink Out Night in support of breast cancer awareness. Many Jackrabbit players wore bright pink wraps around their lower legs, with some adding pink to their forearms, bringing a little extra color and meaning to the final game.
A Tough Finish to the Season
Both Quincy and Ellensburg entered Thursday’s matchup looking for their first victory of the season. Unfortunately for the Jacks, the Bulldogs took control early, building a 39-0 lead just two minutes into the second quarter.
By halftime, Ellensburg led 42-0, with the running clock already in effect. Quincy continued fighting through the second half and managed to find the end zone before the final whistle, bringing the final score to 49-6.
It was a difficult end to a challenging season, but Thursday’s Senior Night gave the community an opportunity to recognize the students whose dedication went well beyond the final record.

Junior Jacks Steal the Halftime Show
One of the evening’s brightest moments came at halftime when the Junior Jacks Cheerleaders took the field for a special performance.
The young cheerleaders, ranging from Pre-K through fifth grade, brought plenty of enthusiasm and some much-needed smiles to a freezing evening. Their adorable performance was a reminder that Jackrabbit pride starts young, and the next generation of Quincy cheerleaders is already finding its feet.
More Than a Final Score
There is no getting around the disappointment of a winless season. Players, coaches, families, and fans certainly hoped for a different outcome. But Senior Night is about recognizing the students who have invested their time, energy, and effort into representing Quincy High School.
For the graduating seniors, Thursday marked the end of one chapter, even as the rest of their senior year continues. A special thank-you goes to the families and fans who bundled up and braved the bitter cold to support the Jackrabbits one last time this season.
The football season may be over, but the school spirit, friendships, and memories made along the way will carry on long after the stadium lights go dark.
Once a Jackrabbit, always a Jackrabbit.
