The Complete Guide to Quincy Washington | Life, Community & Local Living
Quincy, Washington is a place a lot of people pass through by accident. They find it crossing between major highways, coming to the Gorge Amphitheater or heading to one of our beautiful nature areas like Quincy Lakes.
If you stay here, there’s usually a reason and I can share some good ones.
Maybe you’re thinking about moving. Maybe you just arrived. Maybe you stopped because you heard we have some of the best donuts in Washington. Or maybe you’ve lived here long enough to know that Quincy is hard to explain to outsiders—but easy to love once you understand it.
I’ve lived here for more than 18 years. My wife and I have raised our kids here, stayed involved in schools, arts, church, youth sports, and homeschool groups, and watched this community grow and change over time. This guide is built from that lived experience—not a visitor’s checklist.
This is the Complete Guide to Quincy Washington, written from the inside.
Where Is Quincy, Washington?
Quincy sits in the heart of Central Washington, surrounded by farmland, wide-open sky, and towns that feel connected more by relationships than by distance.
We’re close enough to Moses Lake, Wenatchee, and the Columbia River to make day trips and shopping easy—but far enough away to keep a true small-town pace of life.
People here commute, farm, build, teach, create, raise families, and show up for one another. Quincy isn’t isolated—but it’s not in a hurry either.
A Community Built Over Time
Quincy’s roots run deep in agriculture and irrigation. What was once dry land became productive ground through hard work, long-term thinking, and a belief in building something that would last. About 19 years ago a new change engine came to town; Data Centers have reshaped the community.
Over the years, Quincy has expanded beyond farming alone. Today, the community includes:
Agriculture and food processing
Education and healthcare
Data Centers, Infrastructure and regional employers
A growing mix of long-time families and newer residents
Even with that growth, Quincy has held onto something important: people still care about where they live.
What Life in Quincy Is Really Like
Life here is personal.
Kids play on the same teams year after year. Teachers know families. Community events are actually community events. When something happens—good or bad—people show up. Don’t get me wrong; we have our difficulties like every other town but Quincy has character. When I came 18 years ago with the early Data Center construction, I would have laughed if you suggested I would raise my family here, but there is something about this place.
Quincy isn’t flashy.
It’s steady.
That steadiness is what draws families here and keeps many from leaving.
Schools, Learning & Family Life
The Quincy School District anchors much of the community, from elementary through high school. School events, sports, music, FFA and performances are well-supported, and families are involved.
Beyond public schools, Quincy has:
Active homeschool communities
Youth enrichment and sports programs
Strong arts involvement through organizations like Quincy Valley Allied Arts
Education here doesn’t stop at the classroom—it’s woven into community life.
Arts, Sports & Local Activities
For a town of its size, Quincy offers more than people expect.
Between youth sports, music, theater, church programs, and seasonal events, families stay busy—but in a good way. There’s room for creativity, competition, service, and growth.
Arts and athletics aren’t “extras” here. They’re part of how people connect.
Seasons Matter in Quincy
You feel the seasons here.
Spring brings wind (a lot of wind), green fields, movement and the busy start of the buys season for many of our families
Summer is hot, dry, busy and full of events
Fall slows things down, the winds come back and the air starts to cool
Winter is quieter—foggy mornings, cold nights, and a slower pace
Each season shapes how people live, work, and gather—which is why we’ve built season-specific Quincy living guides.
Local Businesses & Daily Life
Quincy runs on a mix of local businesses and large corporate support. The Data Centers bring more than just some jobs, the companies are invested in our beautiful town.
Family-owned shops, service providers, farms, and restaurants are part of everyday life. Supporting local isn’t a slogan—it’s just how things work.
Our little town just might surprise you as some of our “little” local businesses do a lot of national and international business, you have likely experienced some of our local goodness and not even known it.
Our Local Business Directory and Business Spotlights are built to reflect that reality.
Events & Community Connection
If you want to know Quincy, pay attention to the calendar.

In fact Quincy has so much going on we created a local daily news podcast just to try to help people keep up with it all. After 18 years I am still blown away by just how much is going on here every day.
