2026 Candidate Interviews
As part of our 2026 election coverage, we invited candidates in several local races to participate in interviews designed to give voters a chance to hear directly from the people asking for their vote.
This page serves as a hub for those interviews. Each race is listed below with links to the individual candidate interviews and supporting information.
What to Expect
To keep the process as consistent and fair as possible, we followed the same basic format for each race:
Every candidate in the race was invited to participate.
Candidates who participated were asked the same 20 questions, in the same order.
Candidates did not see the other candidates’ answers before their interview.
There were no follow-up questions or debate between candidates.
Candidate answers have not been altered, edited, editorialized or changed by the staff, ownership or affiliates of this publication.
Each candidate page includes a transcript of the interview rather than a traditional news story. Transcripts were produced using AI and are presented as a written record of the candidate’s responses.
The original interview audio is included so voters can listen to the candidate’s answers directly.
The complete list of questions is provided for reference.
Each candidate page also includes the candidate’s publicly posted biography, campaign sign or campaign image, and links to their campaign website and/or Facebook page when available.
The purpose of these interviews is not to tell you who to vote for. It is to give candidates the same opportunity to answer the same questions and give voters the information they need to make their own decisions.
